Foundation
Since its founding as WellSpring in 1990, WellFully has served thousands of young people through specialized addiction recovery, behavioral health, and psychiatric residential care. Our integrated approach combines counseling, medical treatment, and educational services to address each adolescent's unique needs.
Mission
In 2017, we became WellFully to better embody our core mission: empowering at-risk adolescents to achieve complete wellness and reach their full potential.
Our History
WellFully began with a simple but powerful vision: to provide at-risk youth with the care, support, and stability they need to overcome life’s biggest challenges. What started as a small residential program has grown into a trusted and comprehensive behavioral health organization serving young people across South Dakota. From the beginning, our focus has been on creating a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment where youth can heal, learn, and move forward with confidence.
Over the years, we’ve responded to the evolving needs of youth and families—expanding residential capacity, launching addiction recovery and outpatient programs, and introducing educational and job-readiness opportunities. We’ve also built strong community partnerships, developed culturally responsive services, and invested in modern facilities and professional staff. In time, we changed our name from Wellspring to WellFully—a name that reflects our mission to help every young person become fully well.
Today, WellFully offers a full continuum of care through the Girls Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility, Boys and Girls Addiction Recovery Programs, Soaring Eagle Outpatient Addiction Recovery Program, the LAB After School & Summer Program, and South Dakota’s only Adolescent Crisis Care Center. While most of our clinical services require a referral, both the LAB Program and the Crisis Care Center are open to the public and do not require a referral—ensuring that immediate support is available when it’s needed most. Whether a young person is seeking treatment, stability, or simply a safe place to grow, WellFully is here—committed to helping every youth become fully well.
Our Impact

"I wouldn’t hesitate to send my child to Wellfully when needed. To have a safe place for him to go and speak with a counselor and spend some time, sometimes overnight, has given peace of mind for all of us!"
- Jeff W. (client parent)
- ARU Youth client

"I learned a lot at WellFully - have better coping & communication skills, and I can set better boundaries. Now my goals are to focus and do better in school, stay sober and active - keep exercising."

"Working at WellFully is a rewarding experience that allows me to connect with young people and make a meaningful impact in their lives."
- Matt P. (Youth Development Specialist)
